Blank specifications. Straight tapered blanks six strip.

Handle 24″ alloy tube with internal brass ferrule.
Middle section   .425  —–   .321
Top section   .281  —–   .123

Cork handle 24″ x 7/8″ with two 7/8″ alloy sliding winch fittings with cork ball butt. (late 60s models fitted with plastic butt end.)

Ferrules.  Brass suction ferrules butt 11.8mm middle 8.5mm. Ring spacing as above.

Ring sizes.  Middle.  Thread-line bridge size 22mm.   Full open bridge size 7
Top   Full open bridge sizes   5  —-  4 —-  3     cement on tip.

Wrappings —  Red.

1965 Catalogue description.

Chapman 500. This rod is designed to meet the demand for an inexpensive 10ft Avon style rod in built cane. Consisting of two 4ft joints with detachable handle. Nicely ringed and finished throughout and supplied in cloth bag. Test Curve 1 lb.

Chapman 500 De-Luxe supplied in same format as the above rod but having Aqualite butt and end ring with chrome intermediates, and divisional cloth bag.
